ABOUT US

MISSION AND HISTORY

The mission of Neziskovky.cz, p.b.c. is to develop the nonprofit sector and support philanthropy in the Czech Republic through high quality educational and informational services. The organization was established in 1993 as Nadace ICN (Foundation ICN) and became ICN in 1999. In 2005 it changed its name to Neziskovky.cz, consolidated services and improved its visibility. Since 1993 the organization has provided educational and informational services as well as produced a monthly magazine for nonprofit organizations.

Main objectives of Neziskovky.cz are to promote excellence in nongovernmental, nonprofit organizations and help the public to appreciate the value of nonprofit organizations. Neziskovky.cz was responsible for a major media campaign about nonprofits in 2008 and launched an annual marketing excellence award for nonprofits.

MEMBERSHIP

Neziskovky.cz is a founding member of the Association of Public Benefit Organizations (AVPO). AVPO unites and supports non-profit organizations that prioritize transparency and professionalism. Organizations interested in membership in the Association have to provide data that go over the legal minimum required by law. The goal of this arrangement is to clearly declare transparency of these non-profit organizations (for more information please see: http://www.avpo.cz/clanek/1486/614/home/english/ ).

Neziskovky.cz is a member of the Association of Adult Education CR (AIVD), a member of the Thematic Network for Social Economy (TESSEA) and the International Network International Capacity Building Alliance (ICBA). Neziskovky.cz is represented in the Government Council for NGOs Czech Republic (RVNNO) and participates in the creation of new legislation.

Neziskovky.cz is in the database of consulting organizations (DataKO). As a consultant for the grants, philanthropy, charity and voluntary sector is organization available to ministries, other central state administration bodies and authorities to prepare materials of legislative and non-legislative nature.

Neziskovky.cz cooperates with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in preparing annual reports of NGO Sustainability Index in the Czech Republic. The Index analyses seven different dimensions of the NGO sector: legal environment, organizational capacity, financial viability, advocacy, public image, service provision, and NGO infrastructure of each country. Training programs
Neziskovky.cz offers a wide range of seminars about management, marketing, public relations, fundraising, proposal writing, social services issues, finance, legislation, and taxation etc.

Customized training
Customized seminars and trainings for staff or board members of nonprofit organizations

Library
Library of Neziskovky.cz is professionally designed and only one in the Czech Republic that covers all fields of activities of NGOs. Its collection is a unique source of information for the study of non-profit sector in the Czech Republic and abroad. Publications, periodicals and other resources about the nonprofit sector can be borrowed or used at organization’s office.

INFORMATION SERVICES

Monthly Online Magazine
The organization publishes an online newsletter “World of nonprofits” that informs about issues important to all kinds of nonprofits in the Czech Republic. Every month the magazine brings news from the nonprofit sector, interviews, a theme of month, legislative news, advice, information about grants and financial resources, as well as information about educational events, polls and events calendar.

Database of funding opportunities for nonprofits
The database includes deadlines and guidelines for requesting funds from government, foundations and businesses.

Grants Calendar
A regular e-mail to subscribers mentioning upcoming opportunities of funding.

Database of nonprofit organizations
The most comprehensive list of nonprofits working in the Czech Republic.

Job Board
The most often used source of information about jobs in the Czech nonprofit sector.

Calendar of Events in the nonprofit sector
A list of fundraising events, seminars, exhibits, festivals and more organized by nonprofits.

Consulting
Individual consultations with specialists on bookkeeping, legal and tax issues, governance, and other topics
Lectors, consultants and trainers
Field experts (often from the commercial sector) conduct training courses. Moreover Neziskovky.cz mediates individual consultation with experts in law, accounting, tax, statutory audits or audits for special purposes (e.g. financing from the EU); also in topics concerning EU structural funds or project consulting for non-profit organizations.
